OUR MISSION:
To encourage governments, agencies, businesses, and individuals to adopt policies and practices that transform the City of Bremerton into a recognized leader in environmental, economic, and cultural sustainability; providing a high quality of life for the citizens of Bremerton today and for future generations.
Join Us!
Sustainable Bremerton is diverse group of individuals organized to promote sustainable living practices and policies among people, businesses, and public agencies.
For most products we buy, and many decisions we make, there are sustainable alternatives to business as usual: greener buildings, buying local, better reuse & recycling, natural lawn care, using low-voc paint, pervious pavements, supporting local agriculture, clean energy ...the list goes on and on. Making sustainable decisions means a better quality of life for people and the planet.
If you are interested in Clean Energy, Green Building, Local Agriculture, or any other sustainability issue, we invite you to join us as we work to find ways to engage the entire community in a more sustainable lifestyle.

It could be a reality. A lot of us have been waiting a long time for this. Now is the time to get involved.
Monica’s Waterfront Bakery & Cafe in Old Town Silverdale is a great place for lunch and Friday, March 13th would be a great day to go there. That's because on March 13th, a percentage of the day’s sales will go directly to the co-op!
Learn more on the Kitsap Food Co-op Website. |

Bremerton's Sustainability District
In December 2007, the Bremerton City Council approved the Downtown Sub Area Plan which provides long-term direction for the continued revitalization of the downtown core. The Plan encourages the incorporation of sustainable design and specifies a "Sustainability District"; a multifamily neighborhood where sustainable building practices are encouraged. The district is located between Warren and Park Avenues and between 6th and 11th Streets. The new Kitsap Community Resources Building, Bremerton's first LEED Certified building, is in this district. You can view the Downtown Sub Area Plan at: http://www.ci.bremerton.wa.us/display.php?id=972
